The
Interior

What belongs inside a decision?

A machine can reach for something. What should it understand before it does?

Open the light in its chest
A stippled mechanical figure holds a small yellow flower in its outstretched hand.

A small cabinet of questions

Before it acts

Pull open a drawer. Consider a system you use, build, or trust. What would it need to answer?

Some things deserve a closer look.

01Purpose

What is this action for?

Name the intended outcome. A request to help is not enough: what should change, for whom, and where should the work stop?

02Authority

Who gave it permission—and how far does that permission go?

Being able to act does not establish permission. Identify who can authorize the action, what limits they set, and how that authority can be withdrawn.

03Consequence

Who lives with what happens next?

Follow the effects beyond the immediate task. What could be lost, what can be reversed, and who needs a chance to intervene before the action becomes difficult to undo?
